EAAPA 2009. Sizing up

On the 11-13th of February in Moscow in IEC “Crocus Expo” took place the II International Amusement Parks& Attractions Expo EAAPA 2009. The organizer of the expo is “Smile-Expo”. EAAPA 2009 was held with the support of the Union of Association and Partners of Amusement Industry (SAPIR), Amusement Association of Italy (SAPAR), National Outdoor Event Association (NOEA).

On the occasion of the opening of the expo there was brilliant entertaining show, having gathered quite a lot of people in the foyer of the exhibition hall.

Media support of the expo was provided by Russian magazines “AIC”, “Prazdnik”, “Vending business”, “Billiard sport” and also major foreign editions: «Game Time International», «Coin–Op», «InterGame», «InterPark», «Hot Games», «E-play», «Interplay», «Kirmes», “Azart”, «Entertainment Industry» and many others.

In comparison with the previous year the amount of exhibitors has increased almost twice (in 2008 there were 69 exhibitors from 5 countries). This year 114 companies from 10 countries have taken part in EAAPA. These companies have presented almost the whole range of products and services of park and entertainment sphere: carting, seesaws, two-three-storied trampolines, lottery equipment, security and control systems, ice skating-rinks (with artificial surface), 4D cinemas, paintball, consulting services, catering services.

On the exhibition was presented equipment for trade entertainment centers, parks, sports grounds and playgrounds for children by both Russian (4D Cinema, Altay-Park, Analog, Attraction, Buratino, Volgogradskie attractions, Air Palace, Bolid and others) and international companies from China, England, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Argentina, Ireland, Rumania, UAE (Zamperla, Bonfigilioli, Veqtor, Imel Park, Orakel, Sarner).

In the context of EAAPA 2009 on the 11th and 12th of February there was Congress “Current tendencies in the development of amusement industry”. Industry experts were discussing current issues, connected with conditions and prospects of entertainment parks and park equipment in the Russian Federation, promotion safety in entertainment parks, innovations in the industry and making up business within new economic conditions. 

The expo was attended by more than 3 700 specialists of entertainment industry from different regions of Russia, countries of the near and far abroad.

This year within EAAPA has been opened specialized event-expo EAAPA Event. It has attracted about 1 500 representatives of event-industry, providing best opportunities to get to know brand-new trends within event-sphere. In the context of EAAPA Event there was a conference, devoted to crisis management within event-business and round work table on the topic of  “Association of animators. It’s time to team up”. After the conferences took place Animation teams’ festival in the sphere of show-business and tourism.

The II International Amusement Parks& Attractions Expo EAAPA 2009 has confirmed its status of one of the leading profile expos of park and entertainment equipment, having gathered best representatives of the industry and having given them the opportunity to reach most of set goals, to make new business acquaintances, to outline further steps of their activity and to determine most prospective trends.

The expo managed to reflect current state of the entertainment industry and to tell about the most efficient means of providing successful activity in the period of world financial crisis.

Preliminary results of the expo make it possible to speak of EAAPA 2009 as of successfully realized project.  How efficient it has become for every of the exhibitor will be possible to estimate later.

The biggest mega-mall of Europe will be built on Varshavskoe highway

A new mega-mall at the cost of $1,5bn is planned to be constructed on the cross of Varshavskoe highway and MKAR near the” Annino” subway. Inside the mall will be located trade zones, offices, sports and leisure center, theme park and a hotel. Almost half of the area will be underground.
